I gotta brag on Sonny...

Sonny came to visit us back on July 3, 2008. He was just under a year old. Boy was he spooky but then you have to remember he had just been taken away from his momma. He wouldn't let you get real close without running and kicking at you.

Well, there has been progress. This pictures was taken on August 25, 2008. he just might come a little closer for an apple wafer!!

Round about September 21, 2008 Chad began to spoil the donkey's (when I say spoil, I am spoil them rotten)by bringing them fresh fruit. Well Sonny couldn't resist the fresh fruit.

Look at him now, this was taken today!! You can get out in the pasture with him to love on him and even touch and rub on his ears and feet. He's not rideable yet but I'm not sure HFR & I are young enough to hit the ground even a few times to get him to that point! He sure is turning out to be a really good pet. Maybe soon he will be old enough to see if he will be a good mate for Sunshine.

New Gates and fences and dirt!!

HFR is really being very productive these days. He got our big gate put up that sure makes it nice when moving around the trailers and the tractor.

Doesn't it look great!!

We had to get a couple of loads of dirt for our new fence since the fence is level but the ground is not. In some places the puppies can walk right under the fence. We'l get that fixed real soon with all this dirt.

HFR also got the gate on the otherside of the house fixed so we have better access to Sonny, our little ON LOAN donkey. We will be taking down the old fence as soon as we get the dirt hauled over to fill in all the puppy escape routes.

And last but not least; our helper donkey, Sunshine. She always wants to help so we are going to put her to work shoveling dirt.

Sunday..A good day in the Lord

The donkey's were really happy to see Chad today, as you can see he was sharing his apple with them. Not really; he brought them a whole big bag courtesy of Culinary Crossroads. The apples were starting to be too soft to be used for people food but the donkey's loved them. Thank you Chad for thinking of Sunshine, Sonny & Miss Dolly and thank you Culinary Crossroad!

On our way to our church, "Arbor Place Baptist Church" we saw about 4 young raccoons. One of them was way to fast for me but I was able to get pictures of 3 of them. Aren't they cute. We have some backroads that we can go to get to our church and it makes for a very pleasant ride.

All our animals...

Kasie, our pet with the most senority. She was our 1st pet to come live with us here in Ben Wheeler. She just had her 1st litter of beagle puppies and they are beautiful. Kasie has been a really good momma.

This is Sunshine. She is a donkey that thinks she's a dog. If you go for a walk in the pasture she will be right there with you.

This is some of our chickens. Betty Lou, the turkin is over on the far left. On the far right is Little Bit and next to her is her surrogate momma, Prudence. Next to Prudence to the left is Dominque. Prudence is also her surrogate momma.

Bo in all his sweetness with the little ones.

Dixie, our little southern bell. She is very sweet.

Jigs, she is faster than lightning and always on the go.

Miss Dolly, our sweet senior citizen. She is on loan to us. We sure have come to love her.

Pete, our ADHD beagle. He is always on the go. He is beginning to calm down and realize he is at home now. He is very flexible.

And last but not least, we have Sonny. He is another loaner donkey. He is a sweet boy with a little twist. He is still very young at just a little bit over 1 year.

Menagerie!

Kasie is really a good momma!

Sonny has what looks like some fly bites in his ears so HFR got some ointment and put it on/in his ears, not down in the ear but just in the upright part of his ear. It didn't make Sonny very happy at first but as HFR rubbed the more he relaxed.
When it was time to let him loose, he bolted. Sonny didn't like being tied.

This is HFR trying to make friends with Sonny again after the doctoring.

Look what Sonny brought home this morning!

UPDATE: We decided to take this little cat to the vet before we let it be around any of our other animal and I am really glad we did. The little cat was very sick with feline leukemia. The vet said it will be necessary to put her down. I am so sorry to hear this but she did get a good meal, a cool drink of water and a nice place to lay her weary bones till time to go to the vet. It's kind of strange the way things cross your path.

We were sitting on the front porch having coffee this morning when I noticed Sonny walking down the fence line looking at something through the fence. He was walking along as to be bringing him home.
HFR went out to meet the kitty. It's kind of funny that we have not seen a cat since we moved here around 18 months or so ago. We get 2 kittens and a 3rd shows up. This little young cat really needs some love and care and HFR is just the one to give it!

It kind of bring to my mind:

Mat 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Mat 25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Mat 25:36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Mat 25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed [thee]? or thirsty, and gave [thee] drink?
Mat 25:38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took [thee] in? or naked, and clothed [thee]?
Mat 25:39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
Mat 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.
Mat 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Mat 25:42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
Mat 25:43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
Mat 25:44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
Mat 25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did [it] not to one of the least of these, ye did [it] not to me.

A new donkey...At least for a little while!

This is Sonny while still at our friend's place. He was waiting to get loaded in the trailer. I don't think he was quite sure what all was going on.

This is Sonny's momma. Her name is Jenny.

Logan has found more dogs to love. This is Lucy. She's kinda ADHD like Pete.
Our friends have 3 beagles, 2 girls and 1 boy. I found that interesting since we also have 3 beagles but 2 boys and 1 girl. We also have in common "DONKEY'S".

This is Abby. She's kind of a couch potato like Bo.

And this is Snoopy!! He's kinda laid back like Bo.

Kasie's just a good dog in her on right. None to compare!!

Adjusting to this new place without his momma is going to take a little time! Maybe after things calm down and we get to put him in with Sunshine, things will be better for him.

Another day on our HOBBY FARM/RANCH!!!

First thing this morning, John went down in the pasture to collect the donkeys. The vet is coming today to get Sunshine all her shots and get her coggins tested.

Dr. Kauble got here and started on Sunshine. She did very well considering all the shots she got.

Miss Dolly got coggins tested as well.

Chad was here again today! What a blessing! He is sure a lot of help to HFR.

They were steady working on all kinds of projects.

PAJ came out to help John as well today. The 3 of them worked quite well together.

Kasie thinks she has found herself a new friend.

What's Sunshine got in her Mind!!

I took a look out the window this afternoon and I thought maybe Sunshine was tired waiting on us to build her new barn. Maybe she's decided to do it herself!!!

but when John decided to go see what she was up to or maybe offer her a hand in the building, she left.

She decided to go give Bo a kiss!!! It's she sweet:)
