I read several other blogs regularly. Today I read a lady's blog that was very interesting to me. I want to share it even though my children are all grown up and have children of their own now. Maybe this will help them as they raise their children.
It's a very fine line between caring/helping & interfering! The caring/helping & interfereing line moves as our children age and mature. It's very easy to care so much that you interfere with their maturing and learning from their own life lessons. We (maybe I should just say Me) as parents try to minimize the pain because it not only minimizes our child's pain but it minimizes our own pain or so we think. When our children hurt we as parents hurt. Most of the time pain is part of growing for both the child and the parents.
I guess I should work more on comforting and less on fixing or at least trying to fix. Sometimes my fixing causes me less pain and in the end causes my children more pain. Learning the hard way most of the time make the lesson learned stick in your mind a lot longer or even for a lifetime.
I am truly blessed to have the 3 children that God has given me.
