Trip to Mt. Enterprise

Hi all,

HFR and I had an interesting trip over to Mt. Enterprise today. HFR found some lumber on CRAIG’S LIST and decided it would be of use for his shed for the tractor and the trailers and to top it off it was at a good price. We got there and were met by some of the politest young men. It's a shame that now a days when someone is polite you think they are putting on a front but not these young gentlemen. The light was shining brightly. This was who they were. It was also interesting that the lumber was rough cut. They had their own sawmill and they cut their own lumber from trees they had cut.

We visited and shared a little. They attend Heritage Baptist Church in Mt. Enterprise. When I got home I looked them up on the internet and found the link above for their church but I also found a link to a song being sung by a young lady in their church that really blessed my heart. I haven't listened to the preacher preach yet so I can't atest to the preaching but I do know that they are KJV only.

Papaw's Pacemaker

Papaw King had to have a new pacemaker put in today. The surgery went well and he is doing great. The nurse in the royal blue scrubs was having trouble getting his heart monitor to work but she finally got that all fixed up.

He was just about to starve to death before they finally got him something to eat. He had not been able to eat since last evening and his surgery was scheduled for 1:00pm but needless to say it didn't really happen till 2:00pm. His wonderful daughter was there to help him out since he couldn't sit up for 24 hours plus he had to keep his left arm and one leg as still as possible. Beverly you are such a blessing to your dad! GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME and ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD!

The Church's One Foundation

The church's one Foundation
Is Jesus Christ her Lord;
She is his new creation
By water and the Word:
From heav'n he came and sought her
To be his holy bride;
With his own blood he bought her,
And for her life he died.

Elect from ev'ry nation,
Yet one o'er all the earth,
Her charter of salvation
One Lord, one faith, one birth;
One holy Name she blesses,
Partakes one holy food.
And to one hope she presses,
With ev'ry grace endued.

Though with a scornful wonder
Men see her sore oppressed,
By schisms rent asunder,
By heresies distressed,
Yet saints their watch are keeping,
Their cry goes up, "How long?"
And soon the night of weeping
Shall be the morn of song.

The church shall never perish!
Her dear Lord to defend,
To guide, sustain and cherish
Is with her to the end;
Though there be those that hate her,
And false sons in her pale,
Against or foe or traitor
She ever shall prevail.

'Mid toil and tribulation,
And tumult of her war,
She waits the consummation
Of peace for evermore;
Till with the vision glorious
Her longing eyes are blest,
And the great church victorious
Shall be the church at rest.

Yet she on earth hath union
With the God the Three in One,
And mystic sweet communion
With those whose rest is won:
O happy ones and holy!
Lord, give us grace that we,
Like them, the meek and lowly,
On high may dwell with thee.

I read the 1st line over on Amy's Blog and it made me what to read and listen to the whole song. You can hear it here.
Thank you Amy for sharing.

My 1st Award

The First Award I've ever got or accepted!!!

I have just received an award. It is from Glenda at My Soap Opera Life....Laus Deo! . Glenda or Gendy as I know her honored me with this award. I'm not real familiar with awards since I don't have any. Thank you Gendy (I think).

There are some rules to accepting this award, so I am going to try and paste them here. 1) Say thanks and give a link to the presenter of the award. 2) Share "ten honest things" about myself. 3) Present this award to 7 others whose blogs I find brilliant in content and/or design, or those who have encouraged me. 4) Tell those 7 people that they've been awarded HONEST SCRAP and inform them of these guidelines in receiving it.
So here I go:
1. I love animals. They are the picture of unconditional love.

2. I'm kind of a loner. I would really like to come out of that but it's real hard for me.

3. I love photography.

4. I have been with the best (for me) HUSBAND, parents, siblings, children (including my son-in-love & daughters-in-love) and grandchildren in the world.

5. I think my Daddy can do ANYTHING. Really he can. I have never heard him say "I can't". He is such a good example to me. (I copied this one from my sister because she is very right)

6. I don't like TV because it takes me places I don't want to go.

7. I only listen to christian music if I have my choice, not because I am so good but because it's a choice I make so I don't go place I shouldn't.

8. I am very picky about who I call friend, that is a very serious title to me. I am very humbled & honored if someone calls me a friend.

9. I love Chinese & Mexican food. Pizza, well I'll eat it from time to time.

10. I wear a 9.5 shoe. My daddy always told me I had a good "under"standing.

Isa 26:3 Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee.

I don't know anyone to give this award to since my sister gave it to me and my only other sister, my daughter and one of my daughter-in-love's. Most of the people I blog with are family that are sharing with their lives with each other. Glenda is the talented one that shares and makes others laugh.

"I hope I did it sort of right".

I have a friend that needs your prayers

I have a friend that needs prayer as our Father lays on your heart to pray. I gave this picture so you would have a picture of the one you are praying for. My heart truly breaks for this person. There have been lots of bad decisions.

Oak Trees

We have had some beautiful old oak trees on our place but the last few years have been hard on them. Oak wilt has not gotten 4. It is quite sad. Today our oldest son is here to help us take down yet another one.
While SON was up there he found that there were 2 raccoons hold up in a hollow place in the tree and they were fighting mad. They had to be moved before the project could continue.

We had a number of helpers and we really appreciate the help.

Yes, HFR was there working as hard as ever. I am one blessed woman.

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

One of my daughter-in-loves sent me this recipe so I tried it and it works! Anybody that knows me knows that I have to put my own touch to a recipe!

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of baking soda 1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons of applesauce
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract about 1/2 teaspoon
1 large coffee mug (MicroSafe) At least a 2 cup size maybe a little larger

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk, applesauce and oil and mix well..
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. 2 1/2 minutes at 1500 watts
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT ! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

(red reflects my changes to the recipe)

Saturday, June 20th - Kennel Cleaning

HFR says that we can't start on the new dog kennel that will have a concrete floor in it till we get the drain lines fixed for the house. The drain line was under the existing kennel, so today we cleaned and moved the existing kennel over to the left 1 kennels length. It sure looks better. While rearranging and moving the kennel we found that we had a whole city of mice living under the dog house. Let me tell you that we have some mouse chasing and catching beagles. The last count I had was somewhere between 30 & 40 mice that those beagles caught.

Trip to Houston

We are riding the Goldwing to Houston today. It's been quite a while since we went on a trip that far on the motorcycle.

We went about 1/2 that distance this past Tuesday. I like to see what I can get for pictures while riding down the rode. All these pictures are while going about 65 to 70 mph except for the pictures of HFR, that was while stopped for rode construction near Oakwood.

I will have my pictures from our Trip to Houston next week.
