Grandchildren's 1st day of School 2008/2009

Dylan and Jacob are ready for school and football. They are each dressed in their favorite team jersey with coordinating backpack. Quite handsome young boys!

Jacob, I'm so glad you were excited and continue to be excited about going to school.

Kae & Jessa now go to the same school. Don't they look cute.

This year and this year only Logan, Jessa and Kae all go to the same school. It's hard to believe the Logan will be going to Jr High next year.

We had 5 precious grandchildren start school today! From what I hear Joseph felt a little deserted with both his brothers gone.

We had another little granddaughter (NYTBD) that went to school with her mother who is a teacher. Her mother, one of our daughter-in-love's, carried her around all day.

Kaelyn and Pawpaw headed for Houston

And their off....

Do you see our other dog out in the pasture??? This one doesn't require any care. He kinda looks like a sheepdog. He just lays out there in the pasture all the time.

We just about got her broke in & it's time to go home!!

Today Kae was working for her supper!! She helped snap green beans. She told me that was the 1st time she had ever done that.

She is a really good helper. For supper we had roasted chicken with fresh picked snapped green beans (thank you to Arlene King & Great-Grandma Jones)& fresh picked yellow squash (thank you to Great-Grandma & Great-Grandpaw Jones). It was wonderful!!! Kae wasn't crazy about the squash but she did at least try it so pawpaw helped her out and ate it for her. She really liked the green beans & red potatoes, she had a 2nd helping.

Kae has already had her bath and is patiently awaiting her ice cream. We sure have enjoyed her being here but I believe momma & daddy are ready for her to come back home (mamaw is worn out, Kae has a lot of energy). I'll take a couple of weeks to re-coop then Logan will be here. At the end of Logan's visit then we will have Dylan & Jake for a visit. We have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy each and everyone of them as they come to share time with us during their summer vaction. I hope they enjoy it as much as we enjoy them. Grandchildren are such a joy!!

Worn out...I just had to seek this picture in!

Another day with Kaelyn!!!!

Well first thing this morning Kaelyn & Pawpaw went out to let the dogs out and feed the chickens. Kaelyn has gotten quite comfortable being out side with the dogs so she stayed outside for a bit. Kasie found another turtle and Kaelyn came to get Pawpaw to show it to him. We seem to have a lot of turtles roaming around.

They decided they would give him another chance so they took him in the bucket to throw him into the tree farm pond. Kaelyn wanted to carry the bucket.

They took the turtle and dumped him over the fence into the area of the pond. He will get one more chance! Kae has lots of energy as you can see she ran back to the house.

Kae decided she was going to go through the dog opening...oops, she's a little bigger than the dogs. Can't go that way.

Now it's time to get ready to go to church. What a little cutie!!!

After church we went and picked up Fred. He put John on to a deal on a log splitter. So we drove to Jacksonville to get the log splitter. With that big oak tree that we took down last week we have lots of logs to split.

Another day with Kaelyn!!!

Kae was going to take Bo for a walk this morning but instead Bo took Kae for a run!!

She got him slow down and got a new grip...

Then, she's off to help put the fan back in the dog kennel for the summer. They need a little extra air on those days when they have to stay in the kennel for extended periods of time.

As the day progressed the dogs found not 1 but 3 big turtles around the yard. This picture is of the 1st one.

I took all 3 of them in a bucket and dumped them over the fence into the tree farm ponds. As you can see Kae was watching to see if they came out of their shell. Kae commented "DON'T THEY HAVE TO HAVE QUIET TO COME OUT OF THEIR SHELL?"

Another day with Kaelyn

We are keeping Kae busy.

She has to cook her own meals!!!

Pet the donkey's and the dogs...

Stretch her horizons, doing things she doesn't normally do, like climbing a ladder. (with Mamaw & Pawpaw there of course)

Kaelyn rode the motorcycle...

Before everyone panics, we did not take her on the road. We were in a pasture going about 2 miles per hour.

And she loved it!!!!

Then she got to go swimming in Uncle Rudy & Aunt Gendy's swimming pool. I think you can tell by the look on her face, that she had a good time.
