Detour

A couple of weeks ago HFR and I were in Temple, TX to hear a friend of ours sing, along with some others "The Mark Trammell Trio" and "The Perry's"

Randy did a great job singing. He has been blessed with a beautiful voice to Praise the Lord.

While we were that near to Gatesville, I decided to go see if I could find my paternal grandparents grave sites. The last time I was there was when my grandmaw died. I can't recall why I didn't go to my pawpaw's funeral but I know that I didn't.
Well, we found it!

Our motorcycle ride today...

HFR & I decided to go on a motorcycle ride today but as we started to leave I noticed that my Saucer Magnolia had a bloom way up in the top of the tree. They don't normally bloom this time of year but it's there.

We head out on some roads that were fun to ride on.

One road after another.

We ended up on a Rains County Road 4360. I missed my shot because we were rolling and it's hard to catch it at just the right time.

I have been down this road lots of time in my life. I traveled it with my pawpaw as we went to see my Mawmaw. She wasn't my Mawmaw at the time that I first started traveling down this road, she was just a lady that he was seeing as a good companion.

The old house is not the same. It's kind of worn out kind of like the people that once live there, my Pawpaw and Mawmaw. They have both gone on I believe to a much better place, heaven that it.

Makes you wonder what these walls would say if they could talk??

This old machine has washed lots of clothes in its day.

I've stood on this back porch many times. I don't know if it was the same washer as the one above but I have helped Mawmaw wash clothes in an old wringer washer like it right on this back porch.

It's just kind of sad to see the house like this but it just proves that IT ALL COMES TO PASS.

Another day with Kaelyn!!!!

Well first thing this morning Kaelyn & Pawpaw went out to let the dogs out and feed the chickens. Kaelyn has gotten quite comfortable being out side with the dogs so she stayed outside for a bit. Kasie found another turtle and Kaelyn came to get Pawpaw to show it to him. We seem to have a lot of turtles roaming around.

They decided they would give him another chance so they took him in the bucket to throw him into the tree farm pond. Kaelyn wanted to carry the bucket.

They took the turtle and dumped him over the fence into the area of the pond. He will get one more chance! Kae has lots of energy as you can see she ran back to the house.

Kae decided she was going to go through the dog opening...oops, she's a little bigger than the dogs. Can't go that way.

Now it's time to get ready to go to church. What a little cutie!!!

After church we went and picked up Fred. He put John on to a deal on a log splitter. So we drove to Jacksonville to get the log splitter. With that big oak tree that we took down last week we have lots of logs to split.
