Oak Trees

We have had some beautiful old oak trees on our place but the last few years have been hard on them. Oak wilt has not gotten 4. It is quite sad. Today our oldest son is here to help us take down yet another one.
While SON was up there he found that there were 2 raccoons hold up in a hollow place in the tree and they were fighting mad. They had to be moved before the project could continue.










We had a number of helpers and we really appreciate the help.















Yes, HFR was there working as hard as ever. I am one blessed woman.

We got our light switches and windows ...

HFR completed the 1st phase of the electrical in his shop.

It is very nice!

You can now walk in the shop and flip the switch to turn on the lights instead of crawling behind the freezer to plug them in. He needed to get this done before our new windows got here because they would need to be stored right where he would needed to be working to finish this phase of his electrical. He finished just minutes before we needed to unload the windows. Isn't that how it works usually?

New windows is one of our projects for our OLD HOUSE. Well, they are here! I want to say THANK YOU to our good friend Randy for helping us make this possible and stay within our budget. The next step will be to get them installed which is on the list to come up shortly. It sure will be nice.

We had good friends come for the weekend to share in our celebration of HFR's birthday. our friend Steve is spending his birthday with us also since his birthday is 02/15/09.

One of my daughter-in-loves told me today that this song reminds her of HFR & I. First off, I am pleased that she knows this about us. Secondly, I'm glad she would tell us. I would without a doubt say; HFR is this kind of man!

New Gates and fences and dirt!!

HFR is really being very productive these days. He got our big gate put up that sure makes it nice when moving around the trailers and the tractor.

Doesn't it look great!!

We had to get a couple of loads of dirt for our new fence since the fence is level but the ground is not. In some places the puppies can walk right under the fence. We'l get that fixed real soon with all this dirt.

HFR also got the gate on the otherside of the house fixed so we have better access to Sonny, our little ON LOAN donkey. We will be taking down the old fence as soon as we get the dirt hauled over to fill in all the puppy escape routes.


And last but not least; our helper donkey, Sunshine. She always wants to help so we are going to put her to work shoveling dirt.

HFR & his brother and sister

HFR's brother & sister-in-love came by to visit for a couple of days from Indiana. HFR's sister and brother-in-love decided to make the visit complete by coming from Waco as well. We were sure glad to see them all. What a treat for HFR to get to visit with both his siblings at the same time. Busy lives, grown children and grandchildren make it difficult for all of us to get together very often, especially with everyone living miles apart, so they all got to be together to visit and share old memories for a couple of days.
