Out of the blue...

The last few days we have been in and out a lot. As you may know cats are very independent and you may not see all of them (we have 6) at the same time but you do usually see each one some time during the day. They are all outside cats. Well we noticed that we had not seen Cali in a couple of days at all. Man, I don't like this at all.

She liked to sleep all day and prowl all night even though she was spayed. She was a night owl. We have looked everywhere we have known her to go and sleep to no avail. HFR even walked up and down the side of the road. Thankfully enough he didn't find her in the road. We have a young donkey about 3 months old that doesn't yet understand what cats are and he will try to chase them down. I made mention to HFR that I hoped that Brighty hadn't chased Cali down and hurt her. HFR walked all out in the pasture looking just in case. Still no Cali...

HFR was outside and he came in the house and said "GET YOUR CAMERA". As always I asked "WHY". "Just get your camera. So I grabbed it and out the door we go.

This is what we saw.

As I walk out across the driveway to the pasture to take a picture of the duck.

"OUT OF THE BLUE...UP WALKS CALI".

She was a little hungry but no wounds. We are glad she is home and hope she won't wander again but time will tell, after all she is an independent cat!

Extra! Extra! Read All About It....

JIGS 02/27/09

We got up this morning and started our day as usual.

1. Coffee

2. Read the newspaper

3. Make the bed

4. Get dressed

5. Let the dogs out of their kennel

6. Let the cats out of the shop office

Wait a minute...Jigs is not as fat as she was yesterday. HFR remembered that Jigs went to her bed early last night (5:00pm, very unlike Jigs) but we didn't think much about it last night. HFR began to look around in the shop office. We knew that it would pay off keeping the cats penned up at night since we knew Jigs was "with kitten". Cats tend to go off into out of the way places to have their kittens. She went as out of the way into seclusion as she could since she was in a limited space; under the desk in a crate.

I need all my children to come for Spring Break or some portion of it so all the grandchildren can see the baby puppies and the baby kittens. HINT HINT....

Cat & Dog run-in...

Dixie had her 1st run-in with the dogs today. HFR went in the CAT HOUSE to do a little house cleaning when Dixie decided she was going out. She slipped out as HFR went in. Dixie was not using good judgment when she did that because we always make sure the dogs are in their kennel before we let the cats out. This time the dogs were loose and so was Dixie. I must say Dixie is fast.

All our animals...

Kasie, our pet with the most senority. She was our 1st pet to come live with us here in Ben Wheeler. She just had her 1st litter of beagle puppies and they are beautiful. Kasie has been a really good momma.

This is Sunshine. She is a donkey that thinks she's a dog. If you go for a walk in the pasture she will be right there with you.

This is some of our chickens. Betty Lou, the turkin is over on the far left. On the far right is Little Bit and next to her is her surrogate momma, Prudence. Next to Prudence to the left is Dominque. Prudence is also her surrogate momma.

Bo in all his sweetness with the little ones.

Dixie, our little southern bell. She is very sweet.

Jigs, she is faster than lightning and always on the go.

Miss Dolly, our sweet senior citizen. She is on loan to us. We sure have come to love her.

Pete, our ADHD beagle. He is always on the go. He is beginning to calm down and realize he is at home now. He is very flexible.

And last but not least, we have Sonny. He is another loaner donkey. He is a sweet boy with a little twist. He is still very young at just a little bit over 1 year.

Our Animals...some of them!

Kasie is really a good momma.

She is always right there. You better not touch her babies. She'll let you know right quick!!

This is Dixie, our little Southern Bell. She is very ladylike.

She is always ready to let you get her picture.

Jigs is another story. She is so fast most of the time I get a picture with my subject (Jigs) not in it.

We worked on their Penthouse today. I think they liked it. They love to climb so this is right up their alley.

This is our boys, Bo & Pete.

Look what Sonny brought home this morning!

UPDATE: We decided to take this little cat to the vet before we let it be around any of our other animal and I am really glad we did. The little cat was very sick with feline leukemia. The vet said it will be necessary to put her down. I am so sorry to hear this but she did get a good meal, a cool drink of water and a nice place to lay her weary bones till time to go to the vet. It's kind of strange the way things cross your path.

We were sitting on the front porch having coffee this morning when I noticed Sonny walking down the fence line looking at something through the fence. He was walking along as to be bringing him home.
HFR went out to meet the kitty. It's kind of funny that we have not seen a cat since we moved here around 18 months or so ago. We get 2 kittens and a 3rd shows up. This little young cat really needs some love and care and HFR is just the one to give it!

It kind of bring to my mind:

Mat 25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
Mat 25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Mat 25:36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Mat 25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed [thee]? or thirsty, and gave [thee] drink?
Mat 25:38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took [thee] in? or naked, and clothed [thee]?
Mat 25:39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
Mat 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.
Mat 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
Mat 25:42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
Mat 25:43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
Mat 25:44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
Mat 25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did [it] not to one of the least of these, ye did [it] not to me.

Today we added a couple of Kittens to our Menagerie

Hi, my name is Jigs. Where'd you say I am?

My name is Dixie.

We got here today via a really nice lady named Missy. Our new caregivers really appreciate Missy's sister Jenny for letting us come live with them and that we will get really good care. Thank you Jenny! It was rather interesting to find out when we got here that one of our new owners shares our birthday, May 27th but she was born a long, long time before us!!

Also, in just a few weeks we will be having more additions?????

Also, you might stay tuned & keep watching, we may have a baby donkey in approximately 11 to 13 months. Don't let you mind run away it will only be the animals....
