Jake's back...

Jake's back and he did just fine. He's moving a little slow but overall he's doing good.













It was really kinda funny this morning after we had taken Jake to the vet; Kasie, his momma began to whine and cry for the longest time. When we came back we had to let her in to see him because of her whining. Once she checked him out she went on about her business with no more whining and crying. Kinda strange!!

Sunday when we were coming home from church at the intersection of FM 314 & FM 858 there was a little bity dog in the road. I mean a tiny little dog! If someone had run over her they would have never realized it. She looked abused. Her hair was pulled out in places, her eyes were somewhat matted and the fleas were taking over. She was a pitiful sight.






This picture was after her eyes had been wiped with eye wash. She is a really cute little dogs.





Today, this is Charly after she has been to the vet. He tested her for heartworms; she is clear and he wormed her. When we got home she got a bath and a serious defleaing.

Cat & Dog run-in...

Dixie had her 1st run-in with the dogs today. HFR went in the CAT HOUSE to do a little house cleaning when Dixie decided she was going out. She slipped out as HFR went in. Dixie was not using good judgment when she did that because we always make sure the dogs are in their kennel before we let the cats out. This time the dogs were loose and so was Dixie. I must say Dixie is fast.

Puppies in Action

I have tried and tried...

Trying to get a picture of a hummingbird is hard for me. They are so fast.


Even Pete was amazed at the hummingbirds this morning.

Kasie is really a good momma.






She is always right there. You better not touch her babies. She'll let you know right quick!!








This is Dixie, our little Southern Bell. She is very ladylike.




She is always ready to let you get her picture.


Jigs is another story. She is so fast most of the time I get a picture with my subject (Jigs) not in it.


We worked on their Penthouse today. I think they liked it. They love to climb so this is right up their alley.

Poor Bo & Pete

Kasie is a very good mother and takes very good care of her puppies. Everytime she goes out into the yard to take care of her business she also yells at Bo & Pete. She prances out of the shop (where the puppies are right now) and yells (barks) at Bo & Pete like she is telling them off or daring them to come near her children. You can tell by the video poor Bo doesn't know what to think...

Then, she goes back and counts the puppies to make sure no one has messed with or taken one.

UPDATE: It's 11:25pm...No puppies yet!

She's been panting all day long since we got up at about 7:00am this morning She just takes a few drinks of water from time to time. She just lays on the front porch Makes me wonder if it's gonna be sometime today?? I'm just wondering when, it's already 4:00pm.

Kasie is getting closer..

I think Kasie is nearing her due date.

According to the doggie pregnancy calculator.

It should be around August 14 to August 18.

Anyone have any guesses???

Today we added a couple of Kittens to our Menagerie

My name is Dixie.



We got here today via a really nice lady named Missy. Our new caregivers really appreciate Missy's sister Jenny for letting us come live with them and that we will get really good care. Thank you Jenny! It was rather interesting to find out when we got here that one of our new owners shares our birthday, May 27th but she was born a long, long time before us!!



Also, in just a few weeks we will be having more additions?????



Also, you might stay tuned & keep watching, we may have a baby donkey in approximately 11 to 13 months. Don't let you mind run away it will only be the animals....

How many of you ladies out there remember being with child in late July to mid August??? If you do, then you can sympathize with her and she's an outside dog!!!

Another day on our HOBBY FARM/RANCH!!!

First thing this morning, John went down in the pasture to collect the donkeys. The vet is coming today to get Sunshine all her shots and get her coggins tested.



Dr. Kauble got here and started on Sunshine. She did very well considering all the shots she got.



Miss Dolly got coggins tested as well.



Chad was here again today! What a blessing! He is sure a lot of help to HFR.



They were steady working on all kinds of projects.



PAJ came out to help John as well today. The 3 of them worked quite well together.








Kasie thinks she has found herself a new friend.
